The third part of the series on skills, which will look at skills related to Agility.

    Block

A combat skill, depending on Agility.

This skill allows you to use a shield and block incoming physical attacks, either with a weapon or with kicks and punches. The skill is automatically used in game, and if it is successful all damage from these attacks is removed. You have the possibility of equipping three types of shield which are categorised as light, medium or heavy. Each shield has differing defensive capabilities and weighs less or more, which allows you more or less freedom in your inventory management.

    Light Armor

A stealth skill, depending on Agility.

You are able to wear light armor, which weighs very little and allows you to carry more inventory items and move freely. This type of armor is quite popular when choosing a skill for a character, since at its maximum potential offers more than the medium armor skill. It also protects almost as much as Heavy armor, and is of course much lighter to carry around. Some light armor wearing races are the Khajiits or the Dunmer, whilst classes typically associated with light armor are Thieves and Assassins.

    Marksman

A stealth skill, depending on Agility.

This is primarily a Bosmer (or wood-elven) skill, and it allows you to use longbows, cross-bows and related weapons with great precision. With this skill as your major and a bonus to Marksmanship, you can inflict great damage with your arrows. You can also use throwing weapons such as the throwing star or the throwing dagger.

    Sneak skill

A stealth skill, depending on Agility.

This is an important in game skill, especially for thieves and assassins. It allows you to enter buildings undetected, and pickpocket characters without them noticing (most of the time). When you are sneaking an icon is displayed, but your skill is only improved when your character is facing the danger of being detected, or is near a creature. The icon disappears and appears when your character is detected or vice-versa. It is advisable to save the game when trying to pickpocket a character.
